God, country, service, love, life. Would have loved to have listened in as they talked. On the circuit, Charlie delivered his message with humor. Dr. McFarland started out light and finished strong with the facts. Can you imagine hearing them both live from the same stage on the same day?

They were totally grounded in their love for the country, their faith and their accomplishments. Charlie flew off a carrier in the Pacific during WWII. As planes crashed on the deck he confessed to be highly allergic to flaming gasoline. Service with a smile. Service to his nation. Service to his God.

Oh, how we need to take their words to heart, learn them, speak them.

If you haven’t yet, go to the “Prescription for the Happy Life” post and listen to or download his hallmark talk. Same for “America’s Opportunity”, one of Dr. McFarland’s finest speeches.

And as always, share them with everyone.

Thank you.
